EVM display begins in Khulna

KHULNA, Dec 8, 2018 (BSS) – Display of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM)
began in Khulna-2 constituency today as voters of the area will cast their
votes with EMV during the 11th national parliament election.

Deputy Commissioner who is also the returning officer of Khulna Md Helal
Uddin disclosed the decision of the Election Commission (EC) to journalists
at a view-exchange meeting held at the deputy commissioner’s conference room.

The DC said EVM will be displayed everyday at four centres of ward-22 in
the city.

The centres are Khulna Zilla School, Pioneer Girls College, Abu Hanif
Keratul Quran Madrasha and Fatima Girls School.

Apart from this, EVM will be gradually displayed at 157 centres from 10 am
to 5 pm on December 12 which will be continued till the day before the
election, he said.

The query of voters regarding EVM use will be solved through such display,
he added.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Ziaur Rahman, District Election
Officer Mohammad Majharul Islam, Additional Director of the Secretariat of
Election Commission ASM Iqbal Hasan, President of Khulna Press Club Faruk
Ahmed, General Secretary Mallick Shudhangsha and journalists of both print,
electronic and online, among others, were present.
