JAMALPUR, Dec 8, 2018 (BSS) – Freedom fighters liberated Melandaha upazila
of the district on December 8 in 1971.
Upazila administration and freedom fighters jointly observed the day in
Melandaha upazila today.
A rally was brought out from upazila parishad premises and paraded the main
roads of the town this afternoon.
After the rally, a discussion was held at upazila parishad auditorium with
upazila nirbahi officer Tamim Al Yamin in the chair.
State Minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam was present at the meeting
as the chief guest.
Freedom fighters Zahurul Haque Munsi (Bir Protik), Abdul Karim,
Sujauddaula, SM Abdul Mannan and Syed Harun-Or-Rashid, and upazila parishad
chairman AKM Habibur Rahman Chan and mayor of Melandaha municipality Shafik
Zahedi Robin, among others, spoke at the meeting.
