DCCI holds ‘Flower Parade’ to promote flower industry

DHAKA, Dec 7, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) today arranged a ‘Flower Parade’ as a part of “DCCI Presents International Flower Exhibition and Conference-2018” to promote the country’s flower industry.

The parade started form the south plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (national parliament) at Manik Mia Avenue and ended its course after coming on the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) premises, said a press release.

DCCI Senior Vice President Kamrul Islam, Director Imran Ahmed, former Vice President M Abu Hurairah, senior officials from USAID and President of Bangladesh Flower Association M Abdur Rahim, among others, were present at the flower parade.

After the parade, DCCI organized an art competition on the BICC premises where more than 100 children took part.

Supported by USAID in association with Bangladesh Flower Society, DCCI has organised the three-day international flower exhibition at BICC premises. The exhibition began on Thursday.

About 70 flower traders from home and India, Thailand and Nepal are participating in this exhibition with a variety of flowers.

The exhibition remains open from 10 am to 8 pm. The objective of this international exhibition is to promote Bangladesh’s huge potential in flower sector.
