Quality education imperative for skilled human resources

RAJSHAHI, Dec 7, 2018 (BSS) – Quality education is crucial for generating
skilled human resources together with lessening the gradually mounting
pressure of unemployment problem.

Teachers and students should come forward to make the institution level
teaching-learning process more effective to attain the cherished goal of
boosting the sector of competent workforce.

The observation came at a view-sharing meeting with heads of educational
institutions titled “Education Improvement in Rajshahi” at Rajshahi Medical
College Auditorium yesterday. District unit of National Teacher Employees
Front (NTEF) arranged the meeting.

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and City unit President of
Bangladesh Awami League AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP
addressed the meeting as chief and special guests respectively with NTEF
local unit convener Prof Shafiqur Rahman in the chair.

District unit president of Bangladesh Teachers Association Mujibur Rahman
and its general secretary Prof Raj Kumar Sarker, city unit president of
Bangladesh Technical Teachers Association Prof Prof Abdur Razzaque and RCC
Ward Councilors Rajab Ali, Mahbubul Hossain and Anwar Hossain also spoke on
the occasion.

Liton said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for improvement of
quality education to take the nation forward. To this end, the government has
adopted diversified programmes.

“Sheikh Hasina’s government is the government of development. All the
sectors in the country have seen huge development and that’s why we have to
bring this government back to power to keep the trend of progress going,”
Liton said.

He sought vote for the Awami League in the upcoming general elections,
saying re-election of the party is very much needed to build a hunger and
poverty-free Bangladesh.

Fazley Hossain Badsha said the living standard of the common people of
Bangladesh always improved whenever Awami League was in power. People of
every section benefited from her government’s plans and programmes, he said.
He urged the people to give their mandate for ‘Boat’ in the forthcoming
parliamentary election.
