Passing out parade of Navy held in Khulna

KHULNA, Dec 06, 2018 (BSS) – Passing out parade marking the induction of B/2018 batch of 789 new entry sailors of Bangladesh Navy was held today at BNS Titumir parade ground at Khalishpur here today.

Navy Chief Admiral Nizam Uddin Ahmed attended the parade as the chief guest and congratulated the new entry sailors for their outstanding performance.

Addressing the occasion the chief guest said the short and mid-term plans have been taken to turn Bangladesh Navy into a dimensional force globally by 2030.

He also called upon them to build up themselves worthy sailors implementing the education in future professional life which they acquired from the sailors school.

Terming Bangladesh as a role model country for development, he said capability of Navy has been enhanced remarkbly to make the force time-befitting.

Modern naval station, modern establishment, Bangabandhu Complex and upgrade training centre have been completed during present government tenure, he mentioned.

The present government has also taken various steps for welbeing of Navy, he said, adding that the Prime Minister has already inaugurated 22 multistoried building at each Naval Zone recently for easing accomodation crisis of Navy personnel.

Earlier, the chief guest reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute at the march past.

He distributed “Noubahini Pradhan Padak”, “Kamkhul Padak” and “Titumir Padak” to the three new entry sailors who obtained first, second and third position for their outstanding performances.

The spectacular parade was witnessed, among others, by Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel) Rear Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal, Commodore Commanding of Khulna Zone Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haque and local high civil and military officials of Khulna and Jessore.
