Nomination papers of 18 candidates remain valid in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Dec 02 (BSS)- A total of 18 candidates have become qualified for contesting in the upcoming parliament election from three constituencies in Manikganj district.

In all, 25 candidates filed nomination papers from three constituencies in Manikganj district on the last day of submission of nomination papers for the upcoming national polls slated for December 30.

After final scrutiny today, 18 candidates have become qualified for contesting in the next national poll as their nomination papers were found valid.

The candidates are in Manikganj-1, A M Naimur Rahman Durjoy (AL), S A Kabir Jinnah and Khodoker Abdul Hamid Dablu ( BNP), Khorshed Alam (Islami Andolon), Md. Faruque Hossain Asad(Bangladesh Muslim League), Ataur Hossain (Zaker Party), Afzal Hossain Khan Joki (Jasod) and ABM Anwarul Huq (Independent).

In Manikganj-2, Momtaj Begum (AL), Golam Sarwar Milon ( Bikolpodhara), Md. Ferdous Ahmed Asif (Torikot Federation) and Mohammad Ali (Islami Andolon).

In Manikganj-3, Zahid Malek Swapon (AL), Afroza Khan Rita (BNP), Mofizul Islam Khan Kamal (Gonoforum), Md, Johirul Alam Rubel (Jatyo Party), Md. Ibrahim Hossain (Islami Andolon Bangladesh) and Rafiqul Islam Ovi (Bangladesh Biplobi Workers Party).

The nomination papers of all three upazila chairmen who submitted nomination papers from BNP were cancelled.
