81.17 pc students pass in JSC exam in Ctg Board

CHITTAGONG, Dec 30, 2016 (BSS) – A total of 81.17 percent students passed this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination under Chittagong Education Board (CEB) which is 90.58 percentage.

Last year the pass rate percent was 90.75.

A total 10,315 students secured highest GPA-5 this year which was 14,135 in 2016. Among them 4,533 male and 5,960 female students got GPA-5.

The board authority has announced the results at a press conference at its conference hall here this noon while Board Controller Prof Mahbub Hasan in the chair.

This year 1, 83,506 students appeared from 1,212 institutions under 218 centres in the examination. A total of one lakh 46 thousand and 814 students passed from Chittagong Education Board.

Among the institutions, 90 achieved 100 percent pass rate while no educational institutions witnessed zero pass rate.

The percentage of pass in the schools of city area is 87.59 % while 79.06% students from the out sides of the city came out successful except hill districts.

Among the districts, the pass rate was 84.79 percent in Cox’s Bazar, 78.34 percent in Rangamati, 68.17 percent in Khagrachari and 78.74 percent in the Bandarban.

Prof. Mahbub Hasan, Controller of Chittagong Education Board blamed most of the students cannot good results in English and Mathematics in the JSC examinations.
