AL’s re-election a must to build poverty-free Bangladesh: Liton

RAJSHAHI, Dec 2, 2018 (BSS) – Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton here today sought vote for the Awami League in the upcoming general elections, saying re-election of the party is very much needed to build a hunger and poverty-free Bangladesh.

“Bangladesh has already fulfilled eligibility criteria to become a developing country from the least developed one,” Liton, local unit coordinator of 14-party alliance, said while exchanging pleasantries with cross-section of people in Shaheb Bazar area marking the forthcoming national election.

“Sheikh Hasina’s government is the government of development. All the sectors in the country have seen huge development and that’s why we have to bring this government back to power to keep the trend of progress going,” Liton said.

Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, city unit general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Dablu Sarker and Vice-president Shafiqur Rahman, valiant freedom fighter Meer Iqbal, Editor of Daily Sonali Sangbad Liakat Ali, NAP district unit general secretary Mustafizur Rahman Khan, city unit general secretary of JSD Shafiqul Islam and general secretary of businessmen coordination council Sekendar Ali were present on the occasion.

Liton urged the people to be united for resisting all evil forces conspiring against AL government in the upcoming election.

He said, “A group of evil forces in the country united to retard the development works of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and AL government.”

Khairuzzaman Liton, city unit president of Bangladesh Awami League, said the living standard of the common people of Bangladesh always improved whenever Awami League was in power. People of every section benefitted from her government’s plans and programmes, he said.

He also urged the people to give their mandate for ‘Boat’ election symbol of Awami League, in the forthcoming parliamentary election to give the party more scope of serving the nation.
