JAMALPUR, Dec 1, 2018 (BSS)-Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has
set a target of producing 97860 metric tonnes (MTs) of potato in the district
during the current Rabi season.
DAE sources said a total of 4660 hectares of land will be brought under
potato cultivation to achieve the production target.
Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) has distributed
seeds of various potato varieties among the farmers to make the cultivation
programme a success.
Meanwhile, farmers of the district have already cultivated the crop on
2800 hectares till this week.
