3 held for importing, marketing fake medicines
DHAKA, Dec 29, 2017 (BSS) – Organized Crime Team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday arrested three men for importing fake cancer medicines from China and marketing those in the country.
“We arrested Ruhul Amin alias Dulal Chowdhury, 46, Nikhil Raj Bongshi, 44, and Md Sayeed and recovered around 21 thousand strips of fake medicine including cancer medicine MT-X, Clomid and Revocon.”
“We also recovered Taka 3.64 lakh from them,” special superintendant of police Md Molla Nazrul Islam told BSS.
The operation, he said, was a result of one and a half month of watch on the group.
“We have received information that an organized gang has been importing fake versions of various life-saving medicines from China and marketing those in the country.”
“We were watching their activities and arrested two yesterday from city’s Tanti Bazar area and another one this morning,” Nazrul added.
