DHAKA, Nov 25, 2018 (BSS) – Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University
(BSMMU) is set to bring all of its services under emergency within a month
aiming to provide better healthcare services to common people fulfilling
their long-cherished demand.

“We are giving the best possible efforts to bring all the services of the
BSMMU under emergency within a month to meet the growing demand of the
people,” BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Kanak Kanti Barua told BSS today.

Unveiling the idea of bringing all the BSMMU services under emergency, he
said it is very tough for Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) to handle
a huge number of patients everyday through its emergency services while the
number is increasing day by day.

“That’s why we’ve decided to introduce emergency for all BSMMU services
to take the responsibility of some patients alongside with DMCH,” Barua said.

About admission of patents at night, he said: “We have a plan to keep some
beds vacant so that people can get admitted in case of emergency at night or
any time of the day”.

The BSMMU Vice-Chancellor said the BSMMU has now emergency services at its
departments of cardiology, neuro science, pediatric, orthopedics and obs and
gynae.
