RAB seizes 7 kg gold bars, arrests 4
DHAKA, Nov 23, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 today arrested four active members of international gold smuggling gang from capital’s Kalyanpur area and recovered 56 gold bars weighing around seven kilograms.
“Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-2 conducted a drive in Kalyanpur area and arrested the four. We recovered 56 gold bars worth around Taka 3.5 crore from their possession,” senior assistant director (media) ASP Md Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan of RAB told BSS.
The RAB official, however, refrained from disclosing the identities of the arrestees for the end of proper investigation.
RAB-2 ASP (media) Mohammad Saiful Malik said the arrestees were members of international gold smuggling gang.
