JU registered graduates polls on Saturday
SAVAR, Dec 28, 2017 (BSS) – The registered graduate representatives’ election to the senate of Jahangirnagar University (JU) will be held on Saturday after a lapse of 19 years.
Marking the election, the university campus wore a festive look as
different colorful posters, placards, and festoons of candidates have been on display.
Two voting centers– one at Social Science Faculty and another at Arts and Humanities Faculty of the university— have been set up, JU Treasurer and also the Returning Officer Professor Sheikh Md. Manjurul Huq told BSS. “We are now set to hold a fair election”, he added.
Contesting candidates under different panels demanded to ensure security on the campus during polling.
A total of 119 candidates are contesting for 25 posts as 4373 registered graduates will cast their votes in the election.
The last election was held in 1998.
