DHAKA, Nov 21, 2018 (BSS) – The rumour identification and prevention
cell of the government today ruled out the news of the disappearance of
‘Bangabandhu-1 satellite’, saying that it was a rumour.

The special cell set up in the Ministry of Information said the news
published in social media and online news portals on ‘Bangabandhu-1 satellite
missing’ was a rumour and urged people not to be misguided.

French manufacturing company Thales Alenia Space has already handed over
the control of the Bangabandhu-1 Satellite to Bangladesh and Bangladesh
Television (BTV) is broadcasting programmes every day by using the frequency
of this satellite, a handout said.

The special cell set up in September has identified the fake news for the
first time.
