Bashudhara Kings reach final in Federation Cup

DHAKA, Nov 20, 2018 (BSS)- Bashudhara Kings reached final of the
Federation Cup Football beating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 1-0 goal in the
second semi-final held at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital today.

Banshudhara Kings will now meet Abahani Limited in the final scheduled to
be held at the same venue at 5 pm on Friday (November 23).

In the day’s match, Touhidul Alam Sobuj scored the all-important goal
for Bashundhara Kings in the 118th minute of the match.

The match rolled into an extra time as both teams failed to score during
the regulation time.

In the day’s match, Bashundhara Kings went attack early in the 9th minute
when Masuk Mia Jony’s goal-bound shot missed the target after the ball
returned to play after defecting Sheikh Russel defender’s Alison’s body.

Bashudhara Kings again got another scoring chance in the 23rd minute.
This time midfielder Ibraim, after taking the ball, ran down from the left
wing and took a powerful shot but Sheikh Russel custodian Ashraful Islam Rana
foiled the attempt brilliantly.

Sheikh Ruseel got a lone scoring chance in the 6th minute of the first
half when their Uzbek forward Azizov Aliser’s powerful shot from the vantage
position missed the target.

After the lemon break, both the teams tried to break the deadlock but
failed for lack of proper finishing that triggered the match to an extra
time.

Bashudhara Kings dominated the entire match, especially in the first
half, and notched their deserving victory while Sheikh Russel were totally
off-colored on the day.

Earlier, Abahani Limited beat Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 4-2 goals in
the first semifinal to confirm their final spot in the tournament.
