3 workers die after falling from high-rise building in Khulna
KHULNA, Nov 20, 2018 (BSS)- Three construction workers died this noon after falling off an under-construction building in Khalishpur Navy compound (BANOUJA-Titumir) area of the city.
The deceased were identified as Md Sayem, 20, son of Mofizul Islam, Md Ramzan, 35, son of Rahim Uddin, and Nur-e-Alam, son of Nurul Islam, 18, hailing from north Deshibari village under Nilphamari district.
Witnesses said the accident took place around 1pm when three workers suddenly slipped from the ninth floor of a 10-storey building in the area, leaving them critically injured.
They were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where duty- doctors declared them dead.
The bodies were kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Community Policing) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Sonali Sen said police visited the spot and an unnatural death (UD) case was filed in this connection.
Shaheedul Islam Sazeeb, an engineer of Wahed Construction, confirmed the incident.
