KHULNA, November 16, 2018(BSS) – The Election Commission (EC) on
Thursday appointed 20 executive magistrates to ensure election code of
conduct to six Khulna constituencies ahead of the 11th parliament election.
According to District Administration, 11 executive magistrates have been
appointed to 31 wards of KCC under Khulna 2 and 3 constituencies while nine
were appointed in nine upazilas under Khulna 1, 4, 5 and 6 constituencies.
Confirming their appointments, Returning Officer and deputy commissioner
of Khulna Md Helal Hossain told BSS, that the appointment has been made
Thursday by directive of the EC.
He said, EC published the list of executive magistrates across country
including 20 for Khulna.
“They will be deployed till December 31, day after the parliament
election, and performed their duties respectively until re-order from EC,” he
said.
Each executive magistrate, out of 11 in 31 KCC wards, will perform
duties at least two wards and some of them in three wards while rest nine
will perform duties in nine upazilas in Khulna.
Aspirants from any political parties have been asked to follow the
election code of conduct to ensure free, fair and peaceful parliament
election, said DC Helal, adding that candidates must remove their own
festoons, posters, placards, gates and others campaign exhaustive before
beginning the formal election campaign.
