Taxpayers rushing to Income Tax Fairs in Rangpur zone
RANGPUR, Nov 16, 2018 (BSS) – The enthusiastic taxpayers are rushing to the
Income Tax Fairs-2018 being held at the divisional and district headquarters
under Rangpur Income Tax Zone for the fourth consecutive day today since
November 13 last.
Officials at Rangpur Zonal Tax Commissioner’s Office said a week-long
divisional level fair is being held at Zila Parishad Community Centre in
Rangpur divisional city since November 13.
Besides, four-day district level income tax fairs are being held at six
districts of Dinajpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon and
Panchagarh since November 14 while five two-day fairs will be held from
Sunday at five upazila towns under Rangpur zone.
“Some 6,171 eligible citizens submitted their return forms and paid over
Taka 2.77 crore as income taxes in past three days till Thursday last at
these Income Tax Fairs,” Tax Commissioner of Rangpur Zone Md Fazlur Rahman
told BSS today.
At the same time, 17,794 tax payers have already taken various services
and suggestions from the income tax officials and 306 new tax payers
registered their new e-TIN numbers in these fairs till Thursday.
Rahman said Income Tax Fairs are being arranged to inspire eligible
citizens for spontaneous payment of income taxes availing various facilities
being provided by NBR and assistance of income tax officials in a hassle-free
manner.
He expressed satisfaction over increasing number of rushing taxpayers to
the fairs and taking assistance from income tax officials on income tax and
calculation of income taxes and filling out income tax return forms to pay
income taxes easily in these fairs.
“After realising Taka 640 crore as income taxes during the last 2017-2018
fiscal, we have fixed a target of collecting Taka 753 crore income taxes
during the current 2018-2119 fiscal in the zone,” Rahman added.
