BFUJ, DUJ condemn arson attacks at Nayapaltan

DHAKA, Nov 15, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) today condemned the arson attacks and vandalizing of vehicles in front of the BNP party office at Nayapaltan.

The journalists’ leaders, in a statement, urged the BNP to return back to the politics for building a democratic society by shunning the path of terrorism.

BFUJ President Molla Zalal and its Secretary General Shaban Mahmud, and DUJ President Abu Jafar Surjo and its General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury said attempts are being made to create panic among the people at a time when they are preparing to cast their votes in a free, fair, neutral and participatory election.

They said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cordially welcomed all to join a free, fair and participatory election. On the contrary, they said, the BNP at times is speaking of joining the national election but the party itself is indulging in terrorist activities on the eve of the polls.
