Income Tax Fair abuzz with FFs, senior citizens
DHAKA, Nov 15, 2018 (BSS) – The freedom fighters (FFs) and senior
citizens were seen paying tax and submitting income tax returns to their
delight at the Income Tax Fair on the Officers’ Club premises in the city
today.
The FFs and senior citizens expressed their satisfaction by getting tax
related services under a single umbrella at the fair venue.
Separate booths were set up at the fair for the FFs and senior citizens,
coordinator of the fair and National Board of Revenue (NBR) member Zia Uddin
Mahmood told BSS.
About 200 freedom fighters paid their income tax in the last three days,
he said.
A freedom fighter Nurul Islam said he is happy by getting the tax related
all services at the fair.
Separate booths were also set up at the venue for persons with
disabilities. They can pay tax and submit income tax returns with the help of
tax officials.
Limit of income tax is Taka 2.5 lakh while the limit is Taka 4.25 lakh
for the FFs and Taka 3 lakh for senior citizens age above 65 years.
The weeklong ‘Income Tax Fair’ began across the country on Tuesday and it
will continue till November 19.
