BMJP expels its general secretary Sukriti Kumar Mondol

DHAKA, Nov 14, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Minority Janata Party (BMJP) has decided to expel Sukriti Kumar Mondol from the post of its general secretary and general member for his anti-disciplinary activities as he joined the BNP-led 20-party alliance out of his personal interest.

“Earlier on October 8, 2018, general secretary of Bangladesh Minority Janata Party (BMJP) Sukriti Kumar Mondol joined the BNP-led 20-party alliance out of his personal interest without consulting it within the party forum, which is fully contradictory to the party discipline. We want to categorically say that BMJP did not join the 20-party alliance,” said BMJP President Shyamol Kumar Roy.

Shyamol was addressing a press conference at the office of Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) in the city’s Shegunbagicha.

The BMJP President said his party is pledge-bound to protect the interest of the minority community of the country.

In an emergency meeting held on October 10, 2018 with its President Shyamol Kumar Roy in the chair, the executive committee members of the party vented their anger against Sukriti Kumar Mondol for his anti-party and anti-disciplinary activities and also suggested for taking disciplinary action against him.

The meeting also decided to appoint its joint secretary Goutam Kumar as its acting general secretary until the next council is held. Under the present circumstances, Shyamol said there is no association of Sukriti with the party and he does not belong to the party anymore.

The BMJP President also said they firmly believe that the support of the religious minorities of the country will be in favour of the pro-liberation political forces in the next general election.

“The BMJP is eager to hold discussion with all the pro-liberation political parties in this regard,” he added.

BMJP Senior vice president Chitta Ranjan Kar, Acting general secretary Goutam Kumar Edbor, Ranjit Kumar Mirdha, Pius Dipok Pirij, Sanjoy Ghosh, Probhash Mondol, were present, among others.
