Art exhibition concludes in Mymensingh

Mymensingh, Dec. 26 : (BSS) A three-day art exhibition at the Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Sangrahashala (Art Gallery) on the bank of Old Brahmaputra river here was concluded on Sunday evening.

Mymensingh Bibhagiyo Charushilpi Parshad (MBCP) organised the exhibition titled “Agamir Zainul”. The exhibition was first of its kind, the organisers said. it was arranged marking the 103rd birth anniversary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin.

A group senior student of Department of Fine Arts of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) displayed their works in the exhibition.

A total of 68 paintings were displayed at the exhibition.

The pictures on varied interest including War of Liberation, natural beauty, culture and tradition, rivers, hills and social awareness, were demonstrated in the paintings.

Prof AHM Mustafizur Rahman, vice-chancellor of JKKNIU inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest with artiste Mohammad Rajon, convener of MBCP in the chair.

Prof Dr AS Mahfuzul Bari, former vice-chancellor of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University; Nagorbasi Bormon, head of Department of Fine Arts of JKKNIU; its assistant professors Tapon Kumar Sarker and Drabir Saikat; Dulal Chandra Gain, assistant professor of Fine Arts Department of Dhaka University; its teacher Md Kamal Uddin; and deputy keeper of the art gallery Mukul Datta were the special guests at the opening session.

Gautom Kumar Devnath, MBCP member secretary delivered the welcome speech.
