RAJSHAHI, Nov 13, 2018 (BSS)-Leaders of influence, cultural activists and
academics at a mass-gathering here have unanimously resolved that Bangladesh
has set a bright instance of communal harmony in the world.

They also viewed people of all faiths are now living in the country amid
peace and tranquility as the present government under the dynamic leadership
of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledged bound to establish communal
harmony everywhere in the society.

They made this observation while addressing a communal harmony meeting
organized by Harmony Bangladesh at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point in the city on
Monday afternoon.

Chaired by Language Veteran Abul Hossain, the meeting was addressed by
Professor Hassan Azizul Haque and convener of Harmony Bangladesh Pizush
Banarjee as chief guest and focal person respectively.

Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton spoke on the
occasion as guest of honour.

Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Abdus Sobhan, Language Veteran
Mosharraf Hossain Akunji, poet Prof Ruhul Amin Pramanik, columnist Proshanta
Kumar Shaha, city unit general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Dablu
Sarker and district unit president of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad Kolpona Roy
also spoke.

Prof Hassan Azizul Haque says a responsive and positive role by all
quarters is very important for maintaining peace and communal and social
harmony.

He said for the sake of building the nation as a peaceful motherland, all
conscious, patriotic and peace-loving people should come forward and work
together.

Pizush Banarjee said the nation would get rid of conflicts and confusion
if the people of the society as well as the state machineries took a positive
approach to establish peace and amity from their own position.

The mass-people should take steps to build a national unity to free the
nation from the clutches of conflicts, feud and violence, he added.

Mayor Liton said the present government has been working relentlessly for
ensuring peace and communal harmony.

He added that the government attaches highest priority to all development
sectors including education and youth and sports for boosting the sectors
with skilled human resources.

Liton said the Awami League government would once again come to power as
the people would re-elect the party for continuing the ongoing development
spree and improving their living and livelihood condition.

He said whenever the Awami League remains in power the people get the
chance of uplifting their socio-economic condition.
