10th Jatra Utsab begins in capital today
DHAKA, Nov 12, 2018 (BSS) – A two-day opera festival titled, ’10th Jatra
Utsab 2018′ began at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy
(BSA) in the city today.
The Theatre and Film Studies Department of the BSA arranges the jartra
festival aiming to implement ‘Jatra Industry Development Policy 2012’ and
register jatra troupes, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general
Liaquat Ali Lucky told BSS.
Four jatra troupes, including ‘Ekota opera’ and ‘Shikha Nattogoshti’ from
Dhaka,’Banani Opera’ from Khulna and ‘Caesar Jatra Unit’ from Jashore, are
participating in the opera utsab.
The festival would remain open for all from 2 pm to 9 every day.
