Disseminating true national history among students stressed

RANGPUR, Nov 12, 2018 (BSS) – High officials at a function here have laid
importance on disseminating true national history among students and young
generations to make them patriotic citizens being inspired with spirit of the
War of Liberation.

They put special emphasis on flourishing multi-dimensional latent talents
and creativity of young students to make them worthy citizens for leading the
nation toward peace and prosperity in future.

They came up with the importance at the certificate and prize distribution
function of the divisional level ‘Making of Bijoyful and Other Competitions-
2018’ held on Shishu Niketon School premises in the city on Sunday afternoon.

The divisional administration with assistance of Bangladesh Shishu Academy
organised the competitions with participation of 432 students of the primary,
secondary and higher secondary educational institutions from allover Rangpur
division.

The participating children divided in three category-wise groups took part
in the competitions like making national flower of water lily, poem writing,
poem recitation, story writing and drawing, solo acting, rendering patriotic
songs and national anthem in groups and making short film.

Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Joynul Bari attended the function and
distributed certificates and crests among the winners as the chief guest with
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Abdullah Sajjad in the chair.

Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya,
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud, Divisional
Director (Local Government) Zakir Hossain and Deputy Commissioner Enamul
Habib addressed as special guests.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Jasmine Nahar moderated the
function attended by participants in the competitions, guardians, teachers,
socio-cultural and literary activists, civil society members and local elite.

Terming young students as future leaders of the soil, the speakers stressed
frequent arranging extracurricular activities to make them knowledgeable,
enlightened and worthy citizens with patriotic zeal.

The chief guest called upon authorities of different educational
institutions to properly flourish latent talents of young students and
children to make them brilliant citizens with good human virtues for building
a prideful nation.
