LGED implements massive development programme in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Nov 12, 2018 (BSS) – Local Government Engineering Department
(LGED) implemented massive development works during the last 9 years in
Mymensingh district.

During the period LGED developed 819 kilometer rural roads and repaired
1,530 kilometer rural roads.

Development works of 478 kilometer rural roads are ongoing in the
district, sources said.

Besides, LGED constructed 590 government primary schools, 6 upazila
complexes and built 72 houses for insolvent freedom fighters during the
period.

The construction works of 40 primary school buildings and 6 upazila
muktijudha complex are also ongoing.

During the last 9 years LGED built 3,092 bridges and culverts in 13
upazilas of the district.

On the other hand, construction works of 992 bridges and culverts are
ongoing in the district.

LGED constructed 810 metre long bridge on Brahmaputra River at Shaltia
in Gafargaon upazila. Besides the construction of 165 metres long bridge on
Godaria River in Haluaghat upazila is ongoing.

Sources said during the last 9 years LGED constructed 4 upazila parishad
complex, 55 union parishad complex and 35 hat bazars in the district.

Besides construction works of 4 Upazila Complex, 7 Union Parishad
Complex and 8 Hat bazars are ongoing, sources added.

LGED also developed 21,636 hectares of small water resources and
constructed 24 Sluice Gates, Rubber Dam and re-excavated of 132 kilometers
long canals. LGED also built over 15 kilometers Dam in the district.
