Jatiya Party wants polls under elected govt: GM Quader

DHAKA, Nov 10, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Quader today said
his party wants the parliamentary election to be held under the elected
government as they did not get level playing field in the elections under any
caretaker government.

“We did not get level playing field in the elections under any caretaker
government. So, we want the polls under elected government,” he told a
discussion marking Democracy Day at the party chairman’s Banani office here.

Jatiya Party Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Presidium Members
Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Sunil Suvo Roy, Mujibul Haque Chunnu and Mashiur
Rahman Ranga, among others, addressed the discussion with Party’s Dhaka City
North unit President SM Faisal Chisti in the chair.

Quader said if BNP joins the election, Jatiya Party will join the polls
from the grand alliance, he added.

He also said the Jatiya Party has preparation to take part in the election
in all 300 parliamentary seats.

Speaking on the occasion, Ruhul Amin Hawlader said all political parties
took part in the 1986 election except BNP. The party again boycotted the
election in 2014.

He said it is not clear whether the party will join the 11th parliamentary
election or not.
