Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi on Nov 21

DHAKA, Nov 9, 2018 (BSS) – Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi will be observed in the country on November 21, commemorating the birth of Great Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on this day of the month of Rabiul Awal with divine blessings for the mankind.

National Moon Sighting Committee at a meeting at Islamic Foundation office in Baitul Mukarram took the decision as the moon of Rabiul Awal of Hijri 1440 was sighted in Bangladesh sky today, an Islamic Foundation release said.

Presided over by Religious Affairs Ministry Secretary Md Anisur Rahman, the meeting was attended by joint secretary of Cabinet Division Mohammad Kalilur Rahman, joint secretary of Religious Affairs Ministry Md Abdul Hamid Jamadder, Information Ministry joint secretary Md Nazrul Islam and additional principal information officer Fazle Rabbi, among others.

On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind.

The Great Prophet also passed away on the same day.
