BNP defeated in dialogues: Menon

DHAKA, Nov 8, 2018 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon today said BNP has been defeated in the recent dialogue with 14-party alliance led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressing hope that the party would be defeated in the upcoming election.

“BNP was finding ways for waging movement in the name of calling for dialogue riding on the shoulder of the Jatiya Oikyafront. They thought that Prime Minister would have not responded to their call for dialogue. But the premier responded to their call and accepted their demands,” he said at Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) here.

The minister was addressing the inaugural function of procession marking the Mass Engineering Day-2018 and the 48th founding anniversary of the IDEB, said an official release.

IDEB Central Executive Committee President AKM Hamid presided over the function while General Secretary of Dhaka City South unit of Awami League Shahe Alam Murad and Councilor of 20 no. ward of the Dhaka South City Corporation Farid Uddin Ratan addressed the function as special guests.

IDEB General Secretary Shamsur Rahman delivered welcome speech in the programme.
