SYLHET, Dec 24, 2017 (BSS)-There is enough evidence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s allegation regarding the illegal assets of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her family in Saudi Arabia, said Finance Minister AMA Muhith.

“It can be proved . . . there must have enough evidence,” said the finance minister while talking to reporters after inaugurating a mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Sylhet Agriculture University (SAU) here yesterday.

The moral of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been constructed on the premises of SAU at a cost of Taka 25 lakh.

“We’ll face the legal notice that was sent by BNP chairperson to the Prime Minister lawfully,” he added.

Muhith said agriculture is the foundation of the Bangladesh economy. But the quantity of the arable land is shrinking day by day whereas the demand for food is increasing, he said, adding that use of modern technology helps the country achieve autarky in food production.

“We need to ensure maximum use of modern technology in agriculture and I think that agriculturists as well as agriculture universities can play important role in this regard,” he added.

SAU vice-chancellor Dr Golam Shahi Alam chaired the programme while Mahmudus Samad Kayesh, MP, former Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, Sulhet District Awami League General Secretary Shafiqur Rahman and Sylhet Sadar Upazila Chairman Ashfaque Ahmad, among others, were present.
