Nasim says Khaleda to get ‘red notice’ in next polls

DHAKA, Dec 24, 2017 (BSS) – Awami League presidium member and health and family welfare minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday said the people would serve ‘red notice’ on BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the next elections.

“As Khaleda Zia started the ‘notice game’ by sending a legal notice to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the people of the country will give ‘red notice’ to Khaleda Zia and her party BNP in the next elections,” he said at a memorial meeting on late Awami League leader Abdur Razzak here.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organised the meeting at Jatiya Press Club on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of death of Abdur Razzak.

Among others, Dhaka South City AL general secretary Shah Alam Murad, Vice-president of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Mubarak Ali Sikder and general secretary of the jote Arun Sarkar Ran addressed the meeting with founding organizing secretary to the jote Sahara Begum Kabori in the chair.

Calling on BNP to join the election fray, Mohammad Nasim said the next elections will be held according to the provision of parliamentary democracy. “Please don’t create any controversy over the elections . . . Don’t try to leave the election field,” to told the BNP.

About the defeat of the Awami League candidate in the Rangpur City Corporation election, he said, “We have accepted the verdict of the people. We will analyze the reasons for our candidate’s debacle and weaknesses in our party forum,” he said.

Nasim added that if one is defeated in the election, one should have the mentality to accept this.

The health minister said BNP leaders cannot see any development of the government as they are suffering from ‘blindness’. “So, drug should be invented to treat their blindness,” he said.

Earlier, the minister addressed a function organized to mark the Victory Day at BRTC Bus Depot at city’s Kalyanpur. Among others, Aslamul Haq Aslam, MP, Jatiya Sramik League President Shukkur Ahmed, general secretary Sirajul Islam and executive president Fazlul Haq Montu were present.
