DHAKA, Dec 24, 2017 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday directed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) not to form BCL committees at the school level.
“There is no need to form BCL committees at the school level and I think the concept (of forming committees) is wrong,” he said, speaking at a discussion at the Bangla Academy auditorium here.
BCL organized the discussion marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day with its president Saifur Rahman Shohagh in the chair.
AL Organizing Secretary Enamul Haque Shamim and BCL General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain, among others, addressed the discussion.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this is not the right time to draw any criticism. Student politics in college and universities should be made more sophisticated, he added.
He advised the BCL members to be alert against any indiscipline so that the organization does not face criticisms for their activities.
