GAIBANDHA, Nov 5, 2018 (BSS) – A total of one lakh 27 thousand and 335
beneficiaries of the district are getting various allowances from the
government through department of social services.
Of the total, some 2,071 beneficiaries are getting freedom fighter
allowance, 74,979 getting old age allowance, 31,265 getting widow allowance,
18,817 getting insolvent disable allowance and 176 getting Bede and Dalits
allowance and 27 getting hizra allowance, office sources said.
The freedom fighter is getting TK 10,000, the old aged men TK 500,
widows TK 500, disable persons TK 700, Bede and Dalits TK 500, and hizras TK
600 as allowance per month.
Apart from it, the disable, the Bede and the hizra students were also
brought under various stipend distribution programmes by the department.
Talking to the BSS deputy director (DD) of DSS Emdadul Haque Pramanik
said the allowances are being distributed to the beneficiaries properly in
the district without any irregularities.
Loan distribution activity to the persons with disability is also going
on in the district aimed at rehabilitating them in the society, the DD added.
