Policy dialogue on unpaid care work at DU tomorrow

DHAKA, Nov 4, 2018 (BSS) – A Policy Dialogue on “Unpaid Care Work:
Election Manifesto Perspective” will be held tomorrow at Teacher-Student
Centre (TSC) auditorium of Dhaka University (DU).

Action Aid Bangladesh (AAB) and Dhaka University Debating Society (DUDS)
will organise the programme in the afternoon as part of the Grand Finale of
‘National Debate Campaign-2018 on Unpaid Care Work’, said a press release.

State Minister for Finance and Planning Abdul Mannan will be present at the
programme as the chief guest.

Researchers, academicians, political leaders, youth leaders and students
from different Universities across the country will join the event.

Rahmat Ullah, Dean of Faculty of Law, Dhaka University, Nuh Alam Lenin,
Former Presidium Member, Awami League; Mujahidul Islam Selim, President,
Bangladesh Communist Party, Dr. Nazneen Ahmed, Senior Research Fellow of BIDS
will address the event.

Mofizur Rhaman, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism of DU, will
present the keynote speech.

Farah Kabir, Country Director of Action Aid Bangladesh, will moderate the
programme.

An inaugural session is also going to be held at 9:00am tomorrow at TSC
where DU Vice Chancellor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman will address as the chief guest.

A K Abdul Momen, Permanent Representative to the UN; Naim Nizam, Editor of
Bangladesh Pratidin; Professor Mahbuba Nasreen; Professor Maksud Kamal; will
be present at the inaugural session.

Professor Meghna Guhathakurta will present research findings on Unpaid
Care Work at the inaugural session.

In this final round of the national debate, champions and runner ups from
all five divisional competitions will participate in the parliamentary debate
on unpaid care work.
