RANGPUR, Dec 22, 2017 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) seized 203 kilograms of ganja and arrested two people from Taluk Upashu village under Pirgachha upazila here.
Acting on a tip off, a special team of the elite force rushed to the area and challenged a Rangpur-bound around 10:30 am on Thursday, a press release said today.
After searching the truck, the elite force seized 203 kilograms of ganja, Taka 562 in cash and one mobile phone set.
Members of the law enforcement agency also arrested two persons and seized the truck. The arrested are truck driver Md Manik Mian, 35, a resident of Kachhna Sonalipara village under Rangpur Kotwali Thana and Shushanto Das, 21, an inhabitant of Chakir Pasha Pathok village under Rajarhat upazila in Kurigram district.
After filing a case, the elite force handed over the arrested persons to Pirgachha Thana police on Thursday night.
