Bangladesh enter final of SAFF U-15 championship

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2018 (BSS) – The Bangladesh U-15 national football team beat
holders India by 4-2 goals in penalty shootout to enter the final of SAFF U-
15 Championship on Thursday at All Nepal Football Association complex in
Kathmandu, Nepal.

Bangladesh will now play final against the day’s second semifinal winners
Pakistan or Nepal, scheduled to be held on Saturday at the same venue. The
keenly contested first semi-final match rolled in to a tie breaker after the
regulation time ended in a 1-1 goal draw.

In the regulation time, Harsh Shailesh Patre put India ahead early in the
17th minute while Ashikur Rahman restored the parity converting a spot kick
in the 90+3 minute of the match.

Bangladesh goalie Mehdi Hasan blocked two spot kicks.

Earlier, the boys in red and green stormed into the semi-final crushing
the Maldives by 9-0 goals in their opening group A match and emerged group
top with a 2-1 goal victory over host Nepal.
