Hong Kong, Shanghai stocks rally into break
HONG KONG, Nov 1, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Hong Kong stocks surged Thursday
morning, extending the previous day’s strong gains as investors welcomed a
pledge by China’s leadership to support the stuttering economy.
The Hang Seng Index jumped 1.84 percent, or 460.28 points, to 25,439.97,
having risen 1.60 percent Wednesday.
The Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.13 percent, or 29.43 points, to
2,632.22, building on the gains of more than two percent in the previous two
trading days.
