Biogas-solar driven milk chiller demonstrated in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Oct 31, 2018 (BSS) – A daylong demonstration of the ‘Technology and Business Model for Commercial Biogas and Solar Driven Milk Chiller’ was held at diary-based ‘Hashi Farm’ in village Balapara of Taraganj upazila in the district.

The Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) of the Power Division of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources organised the event on Tuesday.

The Centre for Rediscovered and Redefined Natural Resources Research and Education (C4RE), Germany-based GFA Consulting Group and German Development Cooperation (GIZ) extended assistance in arranging the demonstration.

Chairman of SREDA Md Helal Uddin attended the function as the chief guest with its Member (Energy Efficiency and Conservation)Siddique Zobair in the chair.

Joint Secretary (Renewable Energy) of the Power Division Mohammad Alauddin, Director of the Renewable Energy Research Centre of Bangladesh Rural Development Academy at Bogra Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairman of Bangladesh Biogas Development Foundation M A Gofran, Commandant of Rangpur Police Training Centre Mahbub Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension Dr Sarwarul Haque and Taraganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Aminul Islam addressed as special guests.

narrating huge positive aspects of expanded use of the eco-friendly biogas and solar power in running industries and enterprises.

The district and upazila level officials of the Department of Livestock and other departments, representatives of different donor agencies and NGOs, male and female dairy farmers and common people of local Ekorchali union were present.
