JS passes Cost and Management Accountants Bill, 2018
SANGSAD BHABAN, Oct 29, 2018 (BSS) – The Cost and Management Accountants Bill, 2018 was passed
in the Jatiya Sangsad in an amended form with a view to keeping continuity of the works of the
republic, rule of law and legal rights of the people and also a befitting manner.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today moved the bill which was passed unanimously by voice votes
with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Miah in the chair.
Placing the bill, the commerce minister said the proposed bill will replace the Cost and Management
Accountants Ordinance, 1977.
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh will be established under the
proposed bill and the headquarters of the institute also to be located at Dhaka, according to the
proposed bill.
Earlier, the draft of the proposed Cost and Management Accountants Bill, 2018 was placed in the
parliament on October 25 as per the rule 246 of the rules of procedures and then it was sent to the
parliamentary standing committee for providing report after further scrutiny.
