DHAKA, Oct 28, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) authorities have received Taka 5 lakh as donation to increase the capital of “Faizunnessa Kabiruddin Rahmani Memorial Foundation” at the university.
Daughter of late Kabiruddin Rahmani and Professor of the Department of Geography and Environment Dr. Hafiza Khatun handed over a cheque for Tk 5 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin today at the Vice-Chancellors office to increase the capital of the foundation.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Chairman of the Department of Geography and Environment Prof Dr Rejuan Hussain Bhuiyan, donors sister Prof. Dr. Latifa Shamsuddin and Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were present on the occasion.
Out of the income of the foundation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in BS Honors Examination from the Department of Geography & Environment of DU will be given Faizunnessa Kabiruddin Rahmani Memorial Foundation Gold Medal.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman thanked the donor for her donation. He also paid tribute to the memories of late Kabiruddin Rahmani and late Begum Faizunnessa.
