Govt to train 5,20,820 teachers ICT technology at educational institutions: Nahid

SANGSAD BHABAN, Oct 28, 2018 (BSS) – Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said the government would train 5,20,820 teachers for expansion of ICT technology and multimedia usages at education institutions across the country.

“The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved “Introduction of ICT at Secondary and Higher secondary (Project-phase-II)” on April 4, 2017,” he said this, while replying to a starred question from treasury bench member Bazlul Haque Harun of Jhalakathi in the Jatiya Sangsad.

The minister said the government would install multimedia classrooms to 31,340 educational
institutions (26,000 education institutions having power facility and 5,340 without power) and provide training to 5,20,820 teachers under the project.

Replying to another tabled question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif, Nahid said the government trained 4,42,091 class teachers aimed at increasing efficiency on creative education under “Secondary Education Sector Development Programme (SESDP)”.

“The government has also provided training to 5,09,556 class teachers of different subjects
including 67,465 class teachers under “Secondary Education Sector Investment Programme
(SESIP)”, the minister informed the House.
