JS passes BPATC Bill, 2018

SANGSAD BHABAN, Oct 27, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) Bill, 2018 was passed today in the parliament in an amended form and to establish and bring the centre under the law.

State Minister for Public Administration Begum Ismat Ara Sadeque moved the bill in the House which was unanimously passed by voice votes with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Introducing the bill, the State Minister said a board will be constituted under the proposed law and the board will operate the centre.

President will nominate the chairperson of the board who will be a minister as per his portfolio and the other member of the board will be Public Administration minister or State Minister for Public Administration, cabinet secretary, Public Administration Secretary, Finance Division Secretary, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division, Rector, Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, Commandant of Defense Services Command and Staff College, FBCCI president, chairperson of Public Administration department of the Dhaka University and four persons nominated by the government and two of them will be female.

Earlier, the proposed bill was placed in the House and then it was sent to the parliamentary standing committee on October 24 for providing report after further scrutiny.
