BAF continues operation against illegal catching of Hilsa
DHAKA, Oct 25, 2018 (BSS)-Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is carrying out special operation against illegal Hilsa fish catching as part of the government’s steps to conserve the Hilsa resources.
BAF will continue the special operation like monitoring and surveillance to identify the location of illegal Hilsa fish collector by helicopter till October 28, said an ISPR press release today.
‘Mother Hilsa Protection Campaign-2018’ is going on from October 7 to 28 for the main breeding season of Hilsa as part of various steps taken by the present to conserve the Hilsa resources.
For this purpose, the government has identified 7,000 square km Hilsa breeding ground, and banned catching, selling and transporting Hilsa.
