Police-people united efforts for crime free society stressed

RANGPUR, Oct 25, 2018 (BSS) – Public representatives at a courtyard meeting
have put stress on united efforts of police and people against drug,
militancy, terrorism and child marriage to build a crime free society.

Gangachara Model Thana with the assistance of Sadar union parisahd
organised the event at village Maddhyapara in Gangachara upazila on Wednesday
afternoon against drug abuse, terrorism, militancy and petty crimes.

Additional Police Super (Circle A) Saifur Rahman Saif attended the meeting
as the chief guest with officer-in-charge (OC-investigation) of Gangachara
Model Thana Inspector Shushanto Kumar Sarker in the chair.

President of Gangachara Sadar Union Awami League and member of Sadar union
parisahd Abdul Khaleque, former union parisahd member Shaju Ahmmed, civil
society members and local elite also spoke.

Members of Gangachara Sadar union parisahd and community policing
coordination committee, community leaders, teachers, students, youths and
religious leaders were present.

Inspector Shushanto Kumar Sarker discussed grievous impacts of drug abuse,
terrorism, militancy, child marriage and other curses and stressed raising
social awareness to build a crime-free and peaceful society.

Abdul Khaleque expressed concern over increasing trend of drug abuse that
has created a formidable threat to normal growth and flourishing talent of
young generations hindering national development.

The chief guest called upon local public representatives and people to work
unitedly and assist the police forces for freeing their respective areas from
drug abuse, terrorism, militancy and child marriage.
