SANGSAD BHABAN, Oct 24, 2018 (BSS) – The Public Service Bill, 2018 passed in the Jatiya Sangsad with a view to enacting an integrated law for the government service holders.
State Minister for Public Administration Begum Ismat Ara Sadeque moved the bill in the House which was unanimously passed by voice votes with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.
Placing the bill, the State Minister said the proposed bill was approved in principal by the cabinet on July 13 in 2015 and then the proposed bill was finally approved by the cabinet with some observations on August 20 in 2018.
The proposed bill was placed in the Jatiya Sangsad on October 21 in 2018 and sent it to the parliamentary standing committee for providing report. Opposition lawmakers opposed a number of clauses of the bill saying those were contradictory with the Constitution.
