DHAKA, Dec 19, 2017 (BSS)-Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had struggled
throughout his life for achieving freedom for the Bengali nation and his
March 7 speech imbued the Bengalis to be united for achieving independence,
said commerce minister Tofail Ahmed.

“Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had to face
imprisonment many times for establishing the rights of Bengalis and he
prepared the nation through different movement for achieving independence in
1971,” said Tofail while speaking at a session of the Swarno Kishori National
Convention-2017 at Sultana Kamal Mohila Krira Complex here today.

Over 5,000 young girls participated in the programme.

Bangabandhu had two dreams, first of all achieving independence and the
second economic emancipation for Bengalis, he said, adding that Bengalis
achieved independence under the leadership of Bangabandhu and now his
daughter Sheikh Hasina has been working for achieving economic emancipation
for Bangladesh.
