Govt works upholding communal harmony: PM
DHAKA, Oct 24, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today greeted the
members of Buddhist community on the occasion of ‘Kathin Chibar Dan’.
“Gautam Buddha preached throughout his life the message of nonviolence,
friendship and compassion for peace and welfare of mankind,” said the Prime
Minister in a message marking the ‘Kathin Chibar Dan’.
She said the incumbent government maintaining communal harmony is working
relentlessly to establish Bangladesh as a peaceful country across the globe.
“His (Gautam Buddha) only objective was to build an ideal society of peace
and amity,” she added.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony where
all citizens can practise their respective religions smoothly.
The Prime Minister further hoped that the nation imbued with the ideology
of Gautam Buddha would be able to establish ‘Sonar Bangla’, dreamt by the
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
