Gov t to announce 41 reserve forest, Anisul Islam Mahmud tells JS
SANGSAD BHABAN, Oct 23, 2018 (BSS) – The government has a plan to announce a total of 41 reserve forest area aiming at ensuring sustainable forest management.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud said this while responding to a starred question made by treasury bench lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury of Bhola-3 during the question-answer session in the Jatiya Sangsad here today.
Apart from the announcement of reserve forest, the government has taken initiative of launching forest management and forest conservation system and poverty alleviation through social afforestation, said the minister.
Besides, the government has enacted mega plan (2017-2036) for the forest sector, protected area management plan, national conservation strategy, 7th five year plan, sustainable development strategy, country investment plan for forestry, environment and climate change, the minister noted.
