DHAKA, April 5, 2017 (BSS) – President Abdul Hamid yesterday urged global leaders to work unitedly to fight social disparities, human inequalities, militancy and terrorism to make the world a safe place for living.

“Let us join our hands together to fight all sorts of social disparities, human inequalities, the vices of militancy and terrorism to make the world as a safe home for living,” he said while delivering a banquet speech at Bangabhaban here yesterday evening.

President Hamid hosted the dinner in honour of delegation of the five-day 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the dinner.

About the global terrorism, Hamid said terrorism and extremism have emerged not only as a great concern for development and democracy but also as a curse of human civilization.

The President called for taking appropriate measures and formulating policies to root out this ever growing threat to the cause of mankind.
