JS adopts obituary reference

SANGSAD BHABAN, Oct 21, 2018 (BSS) – The 10th Jatiya Sangsad on the first day of its 23rd session (Fifth Session of 2018) today unanimously adopted obituary references on a number of distinguished personalities, including five ex-MPs.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury moved the obituary references separately with brief resumes on those who died since prorogation of the 22nd session of the 10th parliament.

The Speaker while moving the references said the House expresses its deep shock at the deaths of five former parliament members (MPs) including Freedom fighters Shah Azizur Rahman and Sadir Uddin Ahmed, language hero Shah M Abdur Razzak, Abdul Gani and Shah Mostanzidul Haque Khizir.

The house also expressed deep shock at the death of people who were died in terrible earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia, ferry sunken in Tanzania, cyclone Michel in Florida, USA, cyclone Titly in Oriswa and Andhroprodesh, India and accidents held in different places at home and abroad.

They conveyed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the lasting peace of his departed soul.

The lawmakers also observed a one-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls. Later, a munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls.
